Azubiwerk Foundation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The non-profit Azubiwerk Foundation creates affordable housing and also offers educational support as well as target group-specific, low-threshold counselling and support services for trainees - true to the motto: \"More than just affordable housing for trainees\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is hardly possible for young people in vocational training to live close to their place of training. Particularly in conurbations where large cities are growing together, such as in the Rhine-Main region, the Rhineland or the Ruhr area, affordable housing is hardly available. Attractive cities such as Berlin, Munich or Hamburg are increasingly becoming unaffordable for young people in training. In addition, trainees are also at a disadvantage on the housing market compared to students due to their low income and age. This is in stark contrast to the mobility required on the labour market. Trainees often have to travel long distances to the training centre or vocational school or are forced to live well beyond their means. Particularly in view of the shortage of skilled labour, offers must be created that allow more flexibility on the training market. It is even more difficult for applicants from abroad to start a training programme in a major German city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Azubiwerk not only makes it easier for new trainees to reach their training locations and vocational schools, but also helps them to integrate more quickly into their new living and working environment. The promotion of stability and structure also benefits the success of their training. Moving into our halls of residence means a new start for all trainees: a new city, their first home and a completely new environment. The trainees live in small groups of two to four people in shared flats. Social activities are organised in spacious common rooms in each residence. Counselling services are organised here in cooperation with the social partners, e.g. on vocational training grants, themed groups, sports and games events or cooking together for the trainees. In this way, a dormitory soon becomes a real home and the training can be successfully completed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this reason, the Azubiwerk Foundation has been operating a residential complex for 156 trainees in Hamburg-Wandsbek since 2016. At the beginning of 2020, a second residential home of the foundation was completed in Hamburg-Harburg with 191 places, the third residential home with 209 places in M\u00fcnzviertel (Hamburg-Mitte) was completed in 2022 and our fourth residential home in Hamburg-Altona will be completed this year. Further halls of residence are being planned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Together with many sponsors, politicians, social partners, chambers and associations, as well as companies, we want to offer even more trainees a home and support in the future. In this way, we are doing our part to further increase the attractiveness of vocational training in Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CORPORATE CO-OPERATIONS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

More and more companies are struggling with recruitment problems. The housing shortage in many metropolises is increasingly becoming a criterion for not starting an apprenticeship there. In addition, there are more and more challenges that trainees have to face during their training. We therefore not only offer affordable housing, but also the support that young people may need during their training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our pedagogical team supports the trainees on their way to an independent life under the premise of \"accompanying instead of supervising\". This gives them more time to concentrate on their training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The educational team is on site 7 days a week. Funding is provided in part by tax-deductible donations from the Azubiwerk support group. As a member of the sponsoring organisation, you can support the Azubiwerk Foundation financially on a monthly basis and thus make a contribution to improving the social situation of trainees. Becoming a member of the support group is easy: simply send an enquiry via the Contact form<\/a> . Membership can be cancelled on a monthly basis. You will receive an annual donation receipt for the contributions paid in accordance with \u00a750 Para. 1 EStDV. You can then claim the donations in your tax return.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Stiftung Auszubildendenwerk is recognised as a non-profit organisation in the area of youth welfare by the Hamburg North Tax Office under tax number 17\/415\/02190 in accordance with Section 52 (2) sentence 1 no. (n) 4 AO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our offer is finding more and more supporters. Companies benefit from the low-cost accommodation on site, as this allows them to recruit applicants regardless of where they live. As part of a co-operation with Azubiwerk, training companies can work with us to improve the social situation of trainees and further increase the attractiveness of vocational training. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
